Shawn Mendes is closing out summer with a bouncy new single titled “Summer Of Love.”
The track, which features producer Tainy, has Shawn reminiscing about summer memories with his love interest. With lyrics like, “Meditation and tequila/ Calling you my señorita/ Didn’t know how much I need ya/ Hate it when I have to leave ya,” many are speculating that this is in reference to his girlfriend of almost two years, Camila Cabello.
In a recent interview, Shawn said that the first few months of lockdown brought him and Camila closer. “It feels good. It was like writing about the first couple of months actually in the lockdown. Camila and I were so lucky because we were able to just kind of be in a still moment,” said the Canadian singer. “We were going on bike rides around Miami, and it just felt really beautiful.”
The catchy tune is also accompanied by a music video which was filmed in Majorca, Spain, and directed by Matty Peacock, who also worked on Shawn’s “Wonder” visuals.
