Rapper G-Eazy keeps it real on his latest project, These Things Happen Too.
The Bay Area artist drops his fourth studio album and the sequel to These Things Happen, released back in 2014. On These Things Happen Too, the rapper does a lot of self-reflecting, and goes as far as addressing some of the controversial moments he’s experienced throughout his career. On “Breakdown” with Demi Lovato, the two relive their lowest moments, as they both have had to face being in the headlines numerous times.
Been fightin’ my demons, but they ain’t fightin’ fair / But I keep saying that “Everything is alright, I swear” / All alone in a dark space, ain’t no light in there / What’s fucked up is I might actually like it there
Aside from Lovato, the album also features Lil Wayne, YG, Ty Dolla $ign, E-40, as well as production from Hit-Boy, OG Parker, Hitmaka and many more. Not only is the record a “full circle journey filled with highs and lows” as G-Eazy says, it also shows how much he’s evolved as an artist.
