Adele is back!
The singer has released her first single “Easy On Me” off her upcoming album, 30. The song, co-produced and co-written by Greg Kurstin, is also accompanied by a music video directed by none other than Xavier Dolan.
“Easy On Me” showcases Adele’s incredible vocal talent, while the visual is symbolic in so many ways. The 33-year-old teased the track on social media earlier this month, as well as the release date for her new album, arriving on November 19. In a recent interview with Vogue, Adele made it clear that this is not a “divorce album” (the singer filed for divorce from Simon Konecki in September 2019.) In an Instagram post, she describes 30 as being her “ride or die throughout the most turbulent period of my life. When I was writing it, it was my friend who came over with a bottle of wine and a takeaway to cheer me up,” she continues. “The friend who’d stay up all night and just hold my hand while I’d sob relentlessly not knowing why.”
Adele’s previous record, 25, won album of the year at the 2017 Grammys, the same award she took home in 2012 for her second album, 21.
