Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak drop their long-awaited project, which features their No. 1 hit single, “Leave The Door Open”. The duo announced the official release date for An Evening With Silk Sonic, with a post on Instagram last month.
The two artists combine the sounds of retro 70s and R&B, and just like their music videos, some tracks are considered vintage gems. In an interview with Rolling Stone, Bruno Mars explained why making feel-good music couldn’t come at a better time. “A good song can bring people together — you don’t have to actually sing the words ‘Everybody come together.’ Sometimes the hard thing is to actually do it. You don’t have to say, ‘Everybody raise your hands’ — sometimes you just hit the right chord and it happens. So that was our mindset with the whole album.”
