Aaliyah’s posthumous collaboration “Poison” featuring The Weeknd, is here!
The track is rumoured to serve as the lead single from the late singer’s upcoming project titled, Unstoppable. According to her uncle and founder of Blackground Records Barry Hankerson, the album will be released in 2022, and will be a mix of hip-hop and R&B. “The body of work is pure hip-hop and R&B. I think it’s going to be big with urban and R&B stations”, he said in an interview with Billboard. A few R&B greats are also set to appear on Unstoppable, such as Ne-Yo and Chris Brown.
Aaliyah’s soft vocals surely stand out on the tender ballad, and fans couldn’t be more excited about the new song. Earlier this year, the singer’s music catalog hit streaming services, including her self-titled album from 2001.
