Jennifer Lopez returns with new music…and a new movie.
The global superstar and Latin singer Maluma have shared the soundtrack for their new rom-com Marry Me, which hits theaters on February 11. Lopez describes the project as a “great love story with music”, and includes a few up-tempo tracks, like the previously released “Marry Me (Kat & Bastian Duet)” and “On My Way (Marry Me)”.
In the movie, Lopez plays pop superstar Kat Valdez who ends up marrying a complete stranger, Wilson Charlie (Owen Wilson), on a whim, after calling it quits with her fiancé Bastian (played by Maluma). The popstar wanted to make sure that her character’s music did not come across as J. Lo songs. “I wasn’t making it a J. Lo album. I was making a different character, and also, I was weaving the songs and writing them for the story,” she said in an interview.
With Valentine’s Day quickly approaching, Marry Me is the perfect film to cuddle up with your favorite person. In the meantime, listen to the ‘Marry Me’ soundtrack below.
