Normani releases her first single of 2022.
After dropping the seductive “Wild Side” with rapper Cardi B last year, the singer returns with an emotional track titled “Fair”. Normani sings about a breakup, and the pain that comes after that.
Is it fair that you moved on? / ‘Cause I swear that I haven’t
Is it right that you’ve grown / And I’m still stuck in habits?
‘Cause I’m finding it strange / That you’re better than average
The R&B songstress shows a softer side on the song, which she explained was a little difficult for her. “Sharing this record makes me uncomfortable because you have never really seen me in this light,” she said. “I am really forcing myself to let go here. This is huge for me and hopefully this piece of art resonates.”
This week, Normani performed “Fair” on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. The single arrives ahead of the singer’s upcoming debut album, which is set for release later this year.
