Beyoncé Returns With 90s House-Inspired Track “Break My Soul”

Beyoncé kicks off her Renaissance Era!

On Monday night, the singer dropped her new single “Break My Soul”, a house-inspired anthem that will have you moving your feet all summer. The song samples Robin S.’s 90s dance hit “Show Me Love” and features a guest appearance from the Queen of Bounce, Big Freedia.

Now, I just fell in love, and I just quit my job
I’m gonna find new drive, damn, they work me so damn hard
Work by nine, then off past five
And they work my nerves, that’s why I cannot sleep at night

“Break My Soul” will serve as the lead single of Bey’s seventh studio album, RENAISSANCE, which arrives on July 29. The feel-good track also includes a writing credit from her husband, Jay-Z.
