Cardi B returns with new music and links up with Kanye West and Lil Durk on her new single “Hot Shit.”
Produced by Tay Keith, the bar-heavy track is the rapper’s first single of 2022 – even though it was recorded in 2019. “I think this record is actually older than ‘WAP’. It is everyone’s favorite,” she said on Twitter Spaces.
Although Cardi was hesitant to release the song because it did not have a music video, she decided to do so anyway. She hopped on Instagram Live to explain why. “I love the record. It’s something that I feel like y’all haven’t heard from me before. I feel like people is expecting a lot of slutiness and blah blah blah,” she said. “Y’all keep talkin’ I keep making TikTok records and this is definitely not that. It’s a fun, great record. It’s masculine, it’s great for the clubs, it’s great for the b*tches.”
“Hot Shit” will appear on Cardi’s yet-to-be-titled sophomore album, which is the follow-up to her 2018 debut project Invasion of Privacy.
