Queen Bey has arrived!
Renaissance, Beyoncé’s seventh studio album and the first in a trilogy, is already topping Apple Music and Spotify charts. Moments after the album’s release, the singer shared a message on social media regarding numerous reports of the project leaking two days before the official date. “So, the album leaked, and you all actually waited until the proper release time so you all can enjoy it together … Thank you for being patient.”
The 16-track album includes contributions from Hit-Boy, Jay-Z, The-Dream, Raphael Saadiq and many more. Drake is also credited as a writer on the Boi-1da-produced “Heated”.
According to the singer, Renaissance was inspired by her Uncle Jonny, whom she credits as the “first person to expose me to a lot of the music and culture that serve as inspiration for this album.” The album is also “a celebration of freedom and a complete immersion into house and dance that serves as the perfect sound bed for themes of liberation, release, self-assuredness, and unfiltered confidence.”
