Elton John and Britney Spears have teamed up for a revamp of a 70s classic!
The two superstars have released their collaboration “Hold Me Closer”, which is a mash-up of three of Elton John’s classic hits – “Tiny Dancer, “The One” and “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart”. This is Spears’ first new song in six years and her first release since the termination of her conservatorship.
“I was so honoured when the incredible Sir Elton John asked me to join him on one of his most iconic songs. We are so excited for the fans to hear it! Thank you, Elton, for having me! I am so grateful that I got the opportunity to work with you and your legendary mind.”
Elton was just as thrilled to have Britney on the dance bop. “She truly is an icon, one of the all-time great pop stars and she sounds amazing on this record. I love her dearly and am delighted with what we’ve created together.”
“Hold Me Closer” is the follow-up to Elton’s duet with Dua Lipa, “Cold Heart”.
