Toronto’s R&B scene is heating up!
Meet Chxrry22, the latest signee to join The Weeknd’s XO Records. Born and raised in Scarborough, Ontario, the rising artist always loved to sing and after dabbling in music in 2017, she packed her bags and made her way to Atlanta to further her career – and eventually signed to XO Records.
On her debut EP The Other Side, Chxrry22 captivates listeners with her sweet-yet-sultry vocals. “The Other Side is about coming to terms with duality—we all have two sides,” said the singer in a press release. “We can be both the villain and the victim in some story and this is me owning that.” The project includes seven tracks and features production from Sensei Bruno and Childish Major.
The Weeknd took to Instagram and shared his support for the artist.
The up-and-comer is already feeling the love from the city. Last week, Chxrry22 performed an intimate set at Soho House Toronto and needless to say, Toronto showed up.
